Buchanan Border Collies
In Loving Memory - Jim Eachus
James Eachus, who died on September 30, 2009, will be missed, but not forgotten.  He
has left a four legged legacy that will continue to prosper long after his two legged kin,
including his wife, Maureen, his two sisters, Marilyn and Cindy, and his brother,
Chris, have passed on themselves.  Jim’s beloved Border Collies, many of whom he
took great pride in flying to their new homes himself, are spread across the globe.

It all began in Manor, Texas in the year 1996 with Sheba (better known as the Mother-
of-all-dogs) who has since retired and is providing comfort to Jim’s grieving family in
Burnet, Texas.  Never one to do something in a small way, Jim then had his sister,
Marilyn, and her husband, Mike, import studs Chaz and Flyer from England.  From
these three was born an empire of pure-bred pride and joy that came to be known as
Buchanan Border Collies.

It is true that Jim’s passing has caused the kennel to be disbanded, but that does not
mean that his dream is gone.  Thanks to the large generosity of the people who live in
that little state known as Texas, Jim’s progeny will not only survive, but thrive!  JB
Border Collies in Spring Branch, TX has taken Flyer, who will continue to work his
magic with the ladies!  Chaz has joined a few dams of his own, on a large ranch he can
now call his domain.

As for all the little black/red and white and tri-colored “women” in Burnet, whom the
“men” leave behind, don’t you worry about them;  they, too, have been adopted by
wonderful and generous families who will love them just as their master would have
wanted.   And for that man, Uncle Jim, as he was known to his many nieces and
nephews, don’t you worry about him, either.  He left this world the way he would have
wanted:  Flying high and living big – always and forever!!
